Great news: Holland is again confirmed as the world’s third strongest country in the prestigious world rankings, with 12 top 200 institutions!

Times Higher Education magazine today publishes its prestigious 2013-14 World University Rankings, confirming bad news for most of Europe’s top universities.

The Netherlands is the world’s third strongest country in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University THERankings 2013-2014, with 12 top 200 institutions! After the US and the UK, the Netherlands is the next best represented nation, Leiden University has the highest score (67th place). 

“The Netherlands continues to demonstrate exceptional strength in depth, with 12 universities in the top 200 – more than any nation bar the US and the UK. " Said Phil Baty, the editor of Times Higher Education Rankings. 

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are the most comprehensive, carefully calibrated and highly respected global league tables, using 13 separate performance indicators to examine a university’s strengths against all its core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. The rankings are powered by Thomson Reuters, which independently collects, analyses and verifies the data.
